"Promises Promises" on Broadway

Sean Hayes

Katie Finneran

"Ruth & Kristina hanging on Broadway"

July 28 was the day that Kristina and her acting class had the opportunity to go to a broadway show, and then speak with some cast members after the show. As I wondered the city that day, I decided that, if I was going to see any show, maybe this one would be a fun choice. I went to the Broadway Theatre at 53rd street/Broadway and purchased a ticket for the evening show. So glad I went. Hilarious play - Sean Hayes is phenomenal, physically funny and just an overall awesome comedian. Saw Katie Finneran for the first time, and laughed uncontrollably, as she interacted with Sean on stage. All the cast worked so well together, it made for an absolutely enjoyable evening. After the audience cleared, the students gathered in the front row, while the actors chatted with them before leaving the building. Questions/answers with Sean Hayes, Kristen Chenoweth, Tony Goldwyn, and Katie Finneran. Invaluable advise from some of the best! I actually was able to sit in on this too -- wow! I was starstruck. Upon exiting the theatre, there were mobs of people wanting autographs and photos. We may not have gotten any inside photos, but experienced an intimate chat up close with 4 cast members! Thanks to you all for sharing!

pictures fromthe Internet.

Russel Brand and Helen Murin on set. Russel Brand wearing a top hat and wielding a cane, runs along 42nd street upon "action". Crowds on the other side of the street trying to be a part of it all. Crew asking everybody to move along, as "you are in the shot, we can't film while you are here!" After taking a few shots, we left the area to respect the process.

film sets in new york

"Premium Rush"set

lots of activity in the city this summer. We came across film sets on a daily basis. Seems crazy to try and shut down traffic, but they do! some people find it interesting, yet others get quite uptight. Human behaviour is so fun to watch. I took pictures when I could, Kristina has some better ones, but I haven't downloaded them yet - when I get hers I will post them as well.

UP ON TOP!

high enough to have your head in the clouds

It's our last day so lots to do! Up early, kinda, and off to empire state bldg. No lines - yeah...

security check then in the first elevator to floor 80. then into a second elevator to the 86 floor. All the elevators are on auto, so no buttons need pushing. Breathtaking views, a little hazy, but after being here for a week, I was able to id some landmarks, and had a sense of the neighborhoods. Enjoy the pictures.

Biking in Central Park

had a fun ride around central park. Tried to keep it under an hour, but turns out the park is kinda big......! Started out at 7:15, and had to return bikes by 8:30pm, just made it back by 8:35, and were only charged for the hour. Great workout - thanks Kristina
Shared an american cheese burger topped with slim crunchy onion rings at the Brooklyn Diner, and I had a Heineken Beer. Yumm
